One of your best, Dave!
I reposted the Cartoon Church link on FB and tons of my non-churchgoing friends have decided they like it.
Thanks Simon, that is good to hear.
Other possible rewards
10 points A go with the thurible
20 points The use of an MP3 player during the sermon
100 points A miss a PCC for free card
1000 points A place on the committee that vets the next vicar
Love this. I know exactly reward my church could give, but probably shouldn’t include it here!
I did once go to a church which had a sort of loyalty card scheme – teens had to have a card stamped on the way into Sunday services in order to get into Saturday youth club.
There was a jewish youth leader from London on Radio 4 around 10.45pm last night (Thurs 25th) who set up a new currency for his teenagers who got “money” for attending synagogue each time they came. This was converted into a number of raffle tickets which were entered in a draw at the end of the year for BIG prizes: ipod nano, 2 tickets for Arsenal, a holiday in Israel etc. However none of the regulars won anything and it then emerged that their tickets had been left out of the draw by mistake. As a result the synagogue paid for them all to have a day out at Thorpe Park. Truth is stranger than fiction!
