There has been a small kerfuffle in the world of cartoonists over a cartoonist sacked by a student newspaper because some of her cartoons looked a bit too much like other people’s work. The Daily Cartoonist has links and opinions. Some cartoonists, such as Daryl Cagle (scroll down a bit), have been saying that it is not really the cartoonist’s fault as all she was doing was finding the obvious joke which is quite often going to be the same obvious joke that other cartoonists are finding.
I have sometimes found that other cartoonists have copied the work I have done. Take this cartoon of mine:
