Happy Christmas

Day 24 This is the final cartoon for this cartoon Advent calendar. Sorry that it isn’t a new one, but drawing anything else wasn’t quite possible. Day 24

happy-christmas

This is the final cartoon for this cartoon Advent calendar. Sorry that it isn’t a new one, but drawing anything else wasn’t quite possible. Hopefully there will be some people who haven’t seen it.

Thanks for all of your support while I’ve been posting the cartoons, through nice things said, comments, tweets, retweets and sharing my work. It has been greatly appreciated.

Doing this Advent calendar has been quite unexpectedly good for me, it must be said. I’d developed a bit of a drawing phobia, so forcing myself to do a drawing a day has, I think, helped me (for the time being at least) get over this a bit. 21 out of the 24 were drawn specifically for this Advent calendar. I’d like to do another regular cartoon for someone, and this has shown me that perhaps I could do it after all.

Some people have asked whether this Advent calendar will be available in print. Well, yes, hopefully it will be. A verbal agreement has been reached. I’ll tell you more when I know more.

Some people have asked me whether they can say thank you in some way. Well, I really don’t expect this, but you’d like to you could consider one of the following: 1) If you’re a church: subscribing to my church cartoons so you can use them in your publications; 2) Recommending me to a magazine editor (if you know one of course), or anyone who could commission me a new regular (non-church-themed) cartooning slot. A long shot, but one never knows… 3) Buying a book of my church cartoons; 4) I do have a tip jar (aka Paypal button); 5) Following me on Twitter.

  1. Thanks for those great cartoons in the run in to Christmas, so many funny but poignant reminders of how we miss the message year after year. Have a great Christmas and God bless your ministry to us, thanks again!

  2. Thank you for the Advent Cartoons, they have been a ray of sunshine in a very busy season.

  3. As an English C of E person living in Australia, I love your cartoons as they convey the unique nature of English Anglicanism with all its quirks and foibles – I love them! And, yes, in the Anglican Church here, flower ladies head the parish hierarchy with Youth Ministers as a very lowly life form.
I am an academic librarian working in a Diocesan Theological Library – we always buy your calendars and have them up in the library so the ordinands know what they are heading for – sort of. Our favourites at the end of the year get laminated and stuck up among the shelves affording light relief as panic sets in when assignments are due.
