Hasn't it been rainy

This is an old one from my old blog.

The weather forecasters have managed to get their weather predictions quite wrong for Essex for much of the last two weeks. On most days the promised showers have failed to materialise, which is good for people with no umbrellas but bad for agricultural sorts like me. By agricultural I mean that I have some radishes and peppers and carrots which I have been watering.

Today it did rain though, so I stayed in and did my work.

I hope none of you have been flooded or caught in large quantities of mud with inappropriate footwear.

I’ll be more interesting tomorrow, I promise.

  1. as i have never visited your old blog, i found this cartoon entry delightful, poignant, and entertaining. oh, very interesting too 🙂

  2. Hasn’t a typical British June traditionally been made of sunshine and many showers? I seem to remember June has often been wet, inspite of being officially part of ‘Summer’. In fact a typical British Summer has been generally pretty wet.

  3. I think the rain you missed out on has been falling just up the road here in Chelmsford. We have had at least showers almost every day for the last 10 days, and certainly no opportunity for radishes, peppers or carrots to suffer from a water shortage. But there have also been some pleasant sunny spells.

  4. Hasn’t been rainy here at all. In fact I’ve been moaning about how hot it is all the time. And then I got a text telling me about a landslide in Glasgow due to the rain. The world’s gone mad.
