The ‘my camera / me’ combo is not that good at such shots. The camera only 2 mega pixels and really does give splendid results most of the time but it struggled a bit to find much light to pick up. But then that is the point of an eclipse.

I had some fun trying to point the camera through the binoculars, which worked surprisingly well with an almost full moon. At one point I had the binoculars the wrong way round, which didn’t help. “Idiot boy!”, said my wife.

You will of course see lots of better pictures all sorts of other websites. It is fascinating to see the variation on Flickr for instance.
