I don’t know whether it will be today or some other day – all I have had is an e-mail (last night) asking for permission to use the image and saying they will mention the campaign. If anyone can look in a copy of Metro today or in the next few days then I would be very appreciative.
I did not ever get a response from the Oxford Street Authorities.
I haven’t had a reply either.
But, according to View London (link above): “This year’s Regent Street Christmas lights have been specially designed to be eco-friendly, using up to 90 per cent less power than other lights*. Lit up in dazzling blue and white the lights are as bright as ever, made out of state of the art paper-thin electrical panels.”
*Not specifying which other lights of course!
I didn’t see it in today’s Metro (we even get it up here) but will keep an eye out for it. Glasgow’s George Square Christmas lights are even blingier and OTT than last year (this is Really Saying Somthing) so your cartoon is certainly just as applicable up here as it is to Oxford St.
Dave, the piece (including your cartoon) was in the Metro today. Do you have a copy (not sure if it’s on their website, I have a paper copy of the Scottish edition) or would you like me to scan it and email it for you? (probably best to reply by email, as I’m bound to forget to check here for an answer).
