One of my daily reads is the blogging search engine Technorati. One of the best things about it is the ‘Tags‘ feature, which means you can search for blog posts by particular keywords or ‘tags’, and you can give your own blog posts tags if you want other people to be able to find your posts by searching for that term. In WordPress, the blog device that powers the cartoon blog, the ‘categories’ that you see over in the left hand column are the tags that each post is automatically given, and then by some miracle of the internet Technorati picks up on these and people searching for that term will find them. So for example, looking for the tag Cartooning will bring up a few of my posts.

But most remarkable of all is that I seem to be the only person in the entire world making Sundry Posts. Now there’s a thing.

[As an aside, another site that uses the concept of Tags is del.icio.us, though these are sites that users suggest that other people can then search for by keywords / tags. Flickr does a similar thing but with photos rather than links.]
