Just in case there are any technical wizards reading who would like to give me the benefit of thereir wisdom.
1) Junk e-mail
There seems to have been a rapid increase in the last 3 or 4 days. Is it the summer weather that brings them out? I know, I need to get some spray.
I love the Firefox browser. But it is entirely appalling in a couple of areas. One, reading pdfs in the browser itself. I really try not to but some websites don’t tell you that a link is a pdf and one clicks it rather than downloading the file. The computer sometimes recovers, sometimes doesn’t. Two. It is sooooo sluggish sometimes after you’ve hibernated and re-unhibernated the computer. Is Firefox incompatible with hibernating? Or is it me?
3) Norton Internet security 2005
Maddie_C’s new computer from PC World has this pre-installed and she doesn’t want it. But, Norton doesn’t appear in add/remove programmes and the Symantec help site just assumes it does. Does this mean it can’t be uninstalled, thereby making using the computer a very annoying experience for the rest of its life, or is there a way?
Update: I have found this page, but I’m dubious about it as once again it assumes you have tried ‘add / remove programmes’ first.
