The fight for the top search engine rankings continues between the various Dave Walkers, with one Dave Walker fighting another Dave Walker with every keyword known to humankind. I had a comment on my previous Dave Walker post from Councillor David Walker, Liberal Democrat Councillor for Morfe ward on Bridgnorth Town Council and Bridgnorth District Council (of Quatford speed limit fame) pointing out that my low ranking is not his fault.
The residents I represent might argue that is quite important for them to get hold of me too! As a free lance web designer I happen to think a good rank is important for my income. If you want a higher rank don’t forget it is not just about links to your page, you also need to get the word count right. Get the right key words in the right places then you will get a better ranking. Don’t blame me for where your site gets ranked.
I like your site.
Regards,
Dave.
Thank you Dave for your comment. I do not begrudge you and your residents your high ranking on Google UK and I wish your business all the best. I wasn’t blaming you, rather larking around as is my habit on this internet column.
You may be right about my word count and my keywords. They might, as with so many things in this life, need optimising. I would like to point out thought I have 5 of the top 10 entries on Yahoo! search for ‘Dave Walker’ and 4 of the top 10 on MSN Search, so I can’t be doing everything wrong.
I console myself with the fact that being half way down page 2 means that lazy stalkers are unlikely to find me. The fact that I am only harrassed by industrious and diligent stalkers eases my mind during these troubled times.
